Future Designs, Inc. PC to I2C Kit (PC-I2C-KIT)

The PC to I2C Kit (PC-I2C-KIT) is a 3rd-party product that provides an interface to the standard parallel port on any IBM-compatible PC to allow for bi-directional I2C, MDIO, and SPI communication. Compatible with any Windows 9x/NT/2000/XP system, the PC-I2C-KIT software uses simple menus from which you select an I2C, MDIO, or SPI peripheral.

The PC-I2C-KIT software supports MDIO 22 and 45 standards in addition to I2C with the ability to add additional I2C or MDIO devices with the software's Device Descriptor Files (DDF). The PC-I2C-KIT also features the Sequencer, which reads SDF files that allow the user to setup multiple read/write instructions to be executed in any defined sequence.

The full kit includes the PC-I2C Board, PC-I2C Windows software, documentation, and 18" cable.

The PC-I2C board:

• Includes the NXP PCF8582 I2C-bus interface EEPROM (256 x 8-Bit)
• Supports low voltage interfacing down to 1.2V
• Supports bus speeds up to 250KHz ±15%
• Provides MDIO support for IEEE 802/802.3 serial communication using Clause 22 and Clause 45
• Includes an on-board socket for direct connection and programming of an I2C EEPROM
• Plugs directly into any standard PC printer port
