74LVC4245A & 74ALVC164245 device highlight

Introduction
Level shifters (mixed voltage translators) are rapidly becoming the IC of choice for application designers wanting to make a seamless transition from 5 volt to 3.3 volt systems. To facilitate design updates, NXP 8-bit and 16-bit dual-supply level shifters, the 74LVC4245A and the 16ALVC164245, interface bidirectionally between a 3.3 volt bus and a 5 volt bus in a mixed 3.3 V/5 V supply environment. The operating range is depicted in the graph below.
Features

Features

  • Handles all bidirectional 3.3 V/5 V interfacing
  • Separate 3.3 V and 5 V supply voltages
  • ±24 mA output drive
  • Fast operation: 4.0 ns typical propagation delay for 8-bit LVC4245; 3.6 ns typical propagation delay for 16-bit ALVC164245
  • Suspend mode between the two supply voltages
  • Directly interfaces with TTL levels
